New product..sort of a night splintPosted by LindaV on 3/21/05 at 15:10 (171714)
In one of my nursing magazines, a product called Plantar FXT by Swedo-O Inc. is advertised. It looks like the night sock..but the attachment goes from the toe to the bottom of the lower leg. Anyone seen it or heard of it?? The claim is that it is more comfortable, and therefore compliance is better.

I wore something like that but didn't like it. I think it was kind of itchy to me if I remember correctly. I wear a regular night spling. I avoided wearing the kind with the hard shell now I can't stand to not have one on. I bought a variety of night splints but in the end only the ones with the hard shell worked for me.

I may have seen it at a recent convention. Sort of a hybrid between the Strassburg sock and a soft night splint. As time goes by, we are starting to see more of a product 'continuuum' as opposed to simply rigid and soft night splints.
