Question for Dr. Davis

Posted by JG on 4/06/05 at 14:10 (172718)

Dr. Davis,
In an earlier post you had written about an enzyme/steroid combination to dissolve scar tissue. Is that just for scar tissue around the nerve or will it help dissolve scar tissue occuring from tarsal tunnel surgery? And if so, how long after the surgery should it be used?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

JG:
The 'scar' formation phase of healing starts about 3 weeks after surgery. So anytime after that would be appropriate for such injection provided excess scar tissue is needed.

the names of the enzyme and steriod used. My Orthopedist is willing to give it a try, but he needs to know what the medications are.
