How long do I need to be off from work?

Posted by dixie on 4/21/05 at 10:16 (173494)

Maybe someone/dr. can answer this ? for me....
I'm having pf surgery (open incision) later on next month with
a nerve release, too..(maybe one in the same surgery)
My ? is how many days or weeks do I need to tell my employer that I
will be out? I will be in a cast for a few weeks and work on my feet.
Any answers out there???
Thanks for your responses.

I think it depends on the rate that you heal and the outcome of the surgery. If you have to work on your feet it is going to be longer than a few weeks.

John,
Have you had this surgery?

No but I worked on my feet for years and just consider the fact that you are going to be standing on your feet for hours after having your foot cut open. Even if you are in a boot I just can't see that you can stand and walk without complete healing which can take months from what other posters have said. These doctors seem to be overly optimistic.
