question for Dr. Z

Posted by messed up foot on 5/05/05 at 19:09 (174335)

How common is it to have a bilateral problem with the peroneal tendon? Had left repaired in December and now the right side is snapping. Also - do you see much lymphedema after TTS and peroneal repair? I'm staring MLD therapy and wonder if it will work. Ortho attributes all the pain in foot and knee (an added bonus) to the edema.

Hi

Not that common to have bilateral peroneal tendon problems No I don't see very much lymphedema after all type of foot and or ankle surgery. What about a lymhedema pump.? What is MLD ?

MLD is manual lymph drainage. Treatment founded in Austria decades ago but it is still fairly new in the US. I have seen amazing results in patients and now ironically, I need it too.

Thanks for your quick response and for all your good work on this website!
