Maintaining fitness with PF

Posted by CrazyT on 5/31/05 at 07:19 (175917)

I'm a frequent runner and I unfortunately succumbed to plantar fasciitis three months ago. I am going stir crazy in having to reduce activity to as little as possible. However, I was wondering if anyone has any experience/advice regarding what types of exercise (e.g. cycling) can be recommended during the recovery period?

All advice welcome!

I rode an upright stationary bike, no standing, but using hand weights to increase the aerobic activity. I did this during a full blown pf flair up with subsequent ESWT. For me the biking did not cause any additional stress. I did not do spinning (standing and pedaling). If you search on this site there are other posts on this question. Some people have an opinion about where to put your foot etc. I found it really didn't matter for me. Good Luck. Water jogging and swimming are good too.
