cycling with heel spur

Posted by elmo on 5/31/05 at 11:46 (175929)

I am currently part of a preventive heart study at U. Penn. I am now in the best shape of my life. My primary exeercise is mountain biking and spin classes. I have begun running in the woods. I have pinpointed my problem as a result of that. Will my cycling aggravate the condition? I must choose keeping my heart in shape over my heel. Will cycling alloow me to do both. Also, after icing and stretching, will I be able to try running again if the pain subsides.

Thank you so much

PF is a dynamic problem. That's probably why what works for one won't work for another. The same goes for what will affect one adversaly as compared to another sufferer.

I've heard of at least one person who claimed that stationary cycling bothered his PF. Maybe it was hit technique. Someone said he pushed off the pedal with his toes. Maybe that was it.
