Just when I thought I've heard of every treatment for neuromas

Posted by Dee on 6/02/05 at 08:40 (176032)

I recently read on another message board of a new treatment for neuromas called radioablation. This treatment is more commonly used for brain tumors. They also mentioned the use of a gamma knife to kill tissues. Has anyone else ever heard of this? If you google radioablation and/or gamma knife, there is a lot of information. It appears to be a totally non-invasive way to get to the offending nerve.

Comments?

Dee:

It is always interesting to hear about new techniques when one is dealing with a potentially tough problem like recalcitrant plantar fasciitis.

Neuromas, on the other hand, are fairly easy to treat with a high success rate with traditional methods so there really is not any great incentive to investigate new methods unless they show very significant promise.
