Heel pain

Posted by DB on 6/07/05 at 22:47 (176292)

I have had severe heel pain for months now that radiates up through my ankle. The pain is very sharp and feels like needles even at rest or when elevated. I work 8-10 hours a day on hard marble floors and I am about 50lbs over weight, I also have flat feet. Co-workers have suggested that I may have a heel spur, after reading articles regarding this condition it does not look like there is much I can do besides losing weight and resting. Does cortisone help?

This doesn't sound like PF. It sounds more like Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome (TTS). The TTS giveaway is the tingling and pain while resting. PF doesn't act that way.

Only a doctor can tell you for sure while examining your feet in his office. Please see one. There is much more help out there for either condition than rest and losing weight.

First get a real diagnosis, then seek treatments.
