mbt's and Plantar fasciitisPosted by dixie on 6/14/05 at 09:29 (176752)
Any comments on the MBT shoes in general? Will they hurt or help in the case of Plantar Fasciitis? I do a lot of walking, and recently way overdid it in Chicago and NY. I walked for hours in loafers and Arche shoes, and now the pain is terrible.

dixie....I just looked up MBT and I would suggest talking to your doctor before trying MBT. It look like a negative heel similar to Earth shoes. It also looks to have a rolling action with that big fat mid-sole section. Here's a link to a site that lists heel spur as a conditon that MBT treats. Just click on 'Medical & Therapy' to see the list of foot conditions by scrolling down. I just called a local MBT store here in San Diego. They cost $224 for sandal and $235 for the shoe. Of course the lady I spoke to was very high on MBT. Caution....it could be a cult ! LOL
Anyway I have suffered from chronic plantar fasciitis for the past 18 months and just got relief (~80%) from a new orthotic. I will talk to my doctor on Monday and report back on what he thinks of MBT.

How do you go about ordering MBT's in the US. I didn't notice any ordering information on the home page. Thanks, Suzy
