Burning feet

Posted by Ann A on 6/17/05 at 00:21 (176988)

I have burning of the feet. The burning only occurs after I have gone to bed. My feet never swell, burn or hurt during the day. sometimes the burning is so bad, I have to get out of bed and put them in cold water. can you help me? what is it? why do they burn only after I go to bed.

Thank you

Ann go to a podiatrist as soon as you can. If they burn after you've gone to sleep it could be (and this is only could) be Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. The best thing is to go to a podiatrist and then look into nerve conduction tests. You only get the pain at night so I'm not sure if that's tarsal tunnel. I guess everyones different. The podiatrist may try and steer you towards plantar fasciitis as the cause but ask him to explore tarsal tunnel as well. Bottom line there are conservative measures that can be taken and they might help but getting to the podiatrist is job one.
