nerve pain after ESWT

Posted by Akiesha S. on 6/26/05 at 19:13 (177342)

I am one week post treatment and noticed when I touch the inside of my ankle I get this really sharp pain that shoots up my foot. Is this normal after ESWT or should I be concerned and will it go away? thanks

This could be from the local anesthetic if you had one. Most of the time it is temporary. Discuss this with your doctor. Heat is very good for this problem. Sometimes if it persists additional treatment may be needed

Akiesha S. I had ESWT done the first week of January. I had exactly that same nerve pain as you describe. It lasted several weeks and was very annoying. It slowly went away after around 5 or 6 weeks.

I had the same pain shoot up my foot and it did go away. It was related, I beleive anyways to the local anesthetic shots I recieved.
