simple question for the doc

Posted by Kris on 7/02/05 at 18:35 (177733)

My neurologist said I had flat feet. My feet do look flat if they are hanging off a table, however, after swimming I notice that my footprints are very, very skinny.

How can my feet be flat and leave such a typical, but thin on the edges, footprint?

He may be confusing having flat feet with feet that are overpronated (roll in). Its the rolling in that can make the arch appear lower and cause problems because when the foot rolls in, the ligament over the posterior tibial nerve ( the nerve involved in tarsal tunnel) is stretched thereby compressing the nerve.
