Left heel pain (possible heel spur and pain in the ball of the footPosted by Mountain Dew on 8/02/05 at 20:13 (179765)
This has started about 2-3 months ago. Always had ball of the foot pain (both feet), now the area in front of the left heel is painful. I have seen the Orthodics commercial on TV, will these help, or are they a waste of time. After all that I have read, I don't really want to take steroid injections. Please help. I have not needed a cane yet.

Mountain Dew- A good starting point would be to read Scotts book on heel pain, click on 'The Book'. Following his advice to healthier feet would be a start. The powerestep inserts sold on this site are a minimal investment and would be worth trying before sinking money into custom made orthotics. However you should see a good podiatrist for a proper diagnosis and advice on stretching, orthotics etc. Tina H
