Hi! I have been a sufferer from PF for well over a year now. For the
first 6 mo. I ignored it, not really knowing what the problem was. It
really flared up as my triathlon training intensity increased and I raced with it for 3 monthes before starting aggressive therapy. To make a long story short, I tried everything -- 2 pairs of orthotics, injections, massage, ultrasound, electro-stim, stretching, etc. -- and after 5 mo. of not running (while continuing biking and swimming and weights), I decided to try one last thing -- bigger bike shoes. Within days, my pain was gone. I really believe it was a combination of things, particularly well-made custom orthotics along with stretching and injections. It looks like my bike shoes were cramping my feet just enough to prevent the heeling process. Now I'm back to running and I think I've conquered it, but you can never be too sure. I've never heard of anyone else get over PF this way, so I thought I'd pass it along. Good luck! Be patient.
