I was told by an owner of an all birk store that in "closed toed" birks you need to get a size larger than the sandal styles. I tried some on and this proved true for me. Thought I'd mention it here in case anyone was thinking of just ordering clogs or closed toed birk styles or didn't have a place to go to try them on - as sizing is so important to helping the PF.

I wear a 36 Arizona and would get a 37 in the closed shoes if I ever get any. At this point I just wear socks in the winter with my sandals & loosen the straps one notch - (boots in the snow to the car - then birks as soon as I get inside the door at work or home - but then we had the mildest winter ever in MN last year - may not work so well with a normal one!)

Also, I did not find a pair of closed toed birks that looked very eye appealing - my husband actually could hardly stop laughing at the "great, big, toe area" - reminded him of the shoes clowns wear. Had to admit he had a point. However, he did say I should just get them if they felt good as that, of course, is the main consideration. After looking, I found a diffent shoe I preferred - the Ecco (Alpha style & it's a clog)...they look great, have a similar heel cup area, although not quite so pronounced... and feel good on my feet. Great with slacks/jeans etc... & I've gotten quite a few compliments on my cute shoes - didn't know they would be an in-style shoe.
