Have any diabetics had PF surgery?

Three things - on average what has been the cure time for PF surgery? How long before you were allowed to do high impact sports, such as aerobics - if at all? And, has anyone who is a diabetic (Type I) had PF surgery? I have diabetes, am 33 years old, in good shape & control, and have had diabetes for 26 years. Have your doctors warned against it? Was the healing time much longer? Finally, is it common to experience swelling with PF, especially in the ankle area?
