My formula for best relief in years

I have suffered from pf for about two years now. It began one summer when I walked miles on my gravel road in bad shoes. The first doctor said to try anti-inflamatories, good shoes and finally custom orthodics. The orthodics did help for awhile but I had to give up all fitness walking. This past year I gained about 15 pounds and my pf symptoms were back full force. This summer I saw an orthopaedist and one of the first things she did was order a night splint to try to relief the excruciating morning pain...it has helped tremendously. Healthsouth (a rehabilition therapy place) made it for $45. I have been sleeping with it for about a month and I have almost no sensation of pf when I step out of bed! The lastest doctor also tried changing my heel cup and arch support, but I had pain with what she rigged up. Although my morning pain was better, my symptoms came back as the day went on. At this point I happened across this web sight. What an answer to prayer! So I bought the Birkenstock Arizona sandle. It is the perfect shoe for my particular pain centers. I am also trying the blue Birkenstock insert in a pair of men's SAS "time out" shoes and I bought a tie Birkenstock shoe but the sandles are by far the winner. I am almost pain free in these. I do a 25 minute whole body stretching tape every morning and then I am riding my bike five miles to lose the extra weight. My doctor said losing one pound is perceived as losing 7 by your feet. That has motivated me. I also ice my foot and I can't believe how beneficial that is. No one ever told me about the icing...another benefit from reading all your entries on this site. I am doing the vitamin and Aleve routine mentioned here as well. And finally, I have had to stop doing so much physical foot work (for example: digging in the garden, carrying heavy loads). As you can see, I am trying a combination of things. This is what seems to be working for me. Oh, one more thing. I also had pain in two toes from wearing too narrow shoes. Since I switched to the Birkenstocks, the pain is gone.
