A lot of what I have heard indicates that orthotics that support the arch are good for PF. Prevents over stretching, etc. I know everyone is different, but I'm curious why you feel getting rid of the orthotics helped. The orthotics that were made for me support the arch and also raise the ball of the foot on the big toe side. My big toes are actually raised up. I was told my foot is crooked and that causes the plantar muscle to over stretch. It has been a very frustrating 2 years with little or no follow up from any Dr. or PT. I'm afraid to stop using the orthotics for fear that my PF will get worse. It is somewhat under control now, but still bothersome. I've started back on the stretching exercises and that seems to be causing more pain. It just seems like such a long process to get rid of this.
