Orthoamerica makes a product called Universal Foot Orthosis for plantar fasciitis; however, they only sell to medical professionals. I have had night splints made for me at the podiatrist's, and they seem to help. They're pretty awkward to put on and take off, though, which means if I have to get up in the middle of the night it becomes a major ordeal. I like the looks of the UFO; velcro straps, padding, washable liner, and think I'd be more likely to wear it faithfully than the splints I have now.(They're basically a strip of hard cast material that extends behind the calf and under the foot to hold it at a 90 degree angle, held on by wrapping an elastic bandage the whole length.) Anyone know a similar product available to laypeople? Or someone who sells Orthoamerica products to non-doctors? Thanks for your time!
