Yes, there is plenty of evidence that there may be a common thread to PF and tendonitis for some people. I have had "non-specific" connective tissue disease since I was 35 yrs. old.(am now 50) Rhuematoid Arthritis & Lupus runs in my family both males and females but more in the females. I do not have the Rhuematoid Factor in my blood yet, but the connective tissue problem has shown up as bursitis in shoulders & hips and I have had tendonitis in the groin & wrist over the years. The heel spur/PF thing is yet another connective tissue area. I have read one various PF sites on the web that if you have PF along with other joint/connective tissue problems you should have testing for arthritis, etc. From what my Dr. has been explained to me, connective tissue problems arise where bones are "connected" to other types of tissue at joints, etc. Inflammation causes excess proteins to build up at these areas to cause pain etc. The Dr. also told me there are many theories as to why your body starts to manufacture all these excess proteins - like a virus? or heredity? or over active immune system, which then ends up fighting your own joints? The theories go on and on but if you have the tendency to get connective tissue problems in one area you may develop them in several areas.
