As to your question though - for a long while I was under the mistaken impression that the pain I suffered in my right foot was a symptom of arthritis, tendonitis or bursitis. My primary care physican alternately diagnosed my case as such. It wasn't until I visited a podiatrist that my condition was properly addressed as PF. From what I've learned, those who suffer from PF have severe heel pain upon rising in the morning or after a long spell sitting. The pain seems to diminish as we walk on the pained heel. We also seem to have an easily detectable pain when we press on the magic area located on the inside of the heel (on my right foot, if I press my fingers firmly against the left side of my foot back by my heel, close to the bottom of my foot I will see stars.
