Does casting for PF help?..Just got walking cast for 6 weeks..

I have had PF for at least 15 years...Saw losts of MDs,etc...gave up when nothing actually worked..well things are worse than ever..now my forefeet and big toes hurt, can bearly walk at all these days..so new specialist(ortho foot specialist) says casting is the only thing that he has seen success with..he says 60-70 %of his patients have been healed...then I read on this web site that casting can cause many other problems...any one out there been casted? results? complications? thanks for any feedback...searched for relief from this disease is life consuming!!!!
