Seconding what Diane R. said, I saw an orthopaedic surgeon who had done a study injecting pigs with cortisone (the variety intended to stay in one local area). He would not give me more than two shots in each heel, citing a dissolution of fatty tissue in the injected area in the pigs after three. His concern is not to reduce the amount of fatty padding in the heel, which could lead to other problems or aggravate the PF.
