Tony:
Thanks for the suggestions.
The pain I'm having is on the left foot, a little to the right side of the arch, (in the right side of the high area),but still on the bottom of the foot.
It's between the heel and the ball of the foot. I have no idea if this makes any sense whatsoever.
When the Dr. pushed one particular spot, it made me come out of the chair and yelp. It certainly made HIM jump.
I have no lump or nodule in the painful spot.
I have no idea what kind of Birkenstocks I tried on, but whatever they were, the 'lump' or the 'hump' inside the shoe pushed in the exact spot of the pain, so that was definitely out.
I bought some Clark shoes to walk around the house in. Ugly but functional.
I'm not overweight, but I do walk barefoot constantly. My house has mostly ceramic tile floors, I walk on the beach, and I dance alot as well. So any and all could have caused the problem. I thought I was actually being good to my feet by going barefoot.
I will take your advice and get a second opinion.
You have been a huge help. I will look up your email address and let you know what the doc says. But I will definitely hold off ordering anything until I get a second opinion. Please email me if you come up with any other brilliant ideas or suggestions. Thanks alot.
Debbie
