Hormones possibly responsible

Hi,
I have read several articles which suggest that hormones are the culprits. Women have more vigorous immune systems. These immunological differences are key to the number of women vs men who say have RA etc. Most arthritis occurs when the immune goes astray, attacking ones own tissues. But when a female is pregnant the immune system fails to recognize and destroy a foreign being. Rheumatoid Arthritis tends to improve during pregnancy but recurs within 3 months of the baby's birth. It appears that hormones do have a significant effect on arthritis and other tissue diseases such as PF etc. Rhonda
