Re: Orthotics worked for me!

I was in the middle of training for my first marathon when I was diagnosed with PF. I took the advice of my doctor and bought orthotics (inserts made by powerstep) for all of my shoes. I stopped running for about two weeks to give my joints a chance to adjust. I gradually got back into my marathon training and am happy to say that I just completed my first marathon yesterday. My feet are sore today but I think that is expected. My heel pain hasn't totally disappeared but I am confident that with a few weeks off....now that the marathon is in the past....my heel should feel good as new. The heel pain never totally went away but with the inserts and the two weeks off it felt significantly better! I also religiously stretch my calves before and after a workout. However, I was doing this before developing PF. I really believe the orthotics made the difference! Give them a try....you don't have anything to loose. Good Luck!
