Need advice quickly!!!!! Just diagnosed with heel spurs

Hello Folks, I hope you might help me. I was just diagnosed today with heel spurs. The pain has been unbelieveable. Last month the doc told me to stretch the tendon, but it has worsened. He right away suggested cortisone shots. Is there altenative?

Please help as I am really suffering and it has had an impact on my lifestyle.
