Re: Think carefully before Cortisone Shots

Posted by Bobbie on 11/15/98

I have suffered with PF for about 3 years. I have had a total of 4 cortisone shots. At first they helped but the last 2 have not. I am very frustrated because the pain is excruciating. My doctor now wants me to try a night splint, if the insurance will pay, but I have my doubts that it will help. I have a job that requires me to be on my feet throughout the day and by the end of the day I can hardly walk. I can no longer take walks, go shopping, or anything else that requires walking or being on my feet. I fear that I will have to quit my job. I don't know the answer and I don't think my doctor does either. I hope I wont end up in a wheelchair or on crutches but what are the alternatives? HELP!
