Re: Advice from fellow runner.

Jerry, I know what you are going thru. I am a runner or 25 years and have had Pf for 7 months. I caused it by a jump of about 5 feet off the ground with a very flat soled boot. Trying to run the next week nearly killed me. Since then I have tried several times to run thru this pain. Every time I try to run any distance (even 1 mile), the pain returns after about 10 days. I discovered this site about 2 months ago. Since then, I have stopped running. I have read and tried nearly everything Scott has recommended on this web site. I am almost 100% pain free and plan to try running again in about 2 weeks.I have a running friend who was more fortunate than myself. He was running 30 miles per week when his left heel starting hurting. He dropped down to 15. No help. Another friend gave him 2 recommendations. He got some Spenco shoe inserts which he wears all of the time. He tapes his foot when he runs. He now is back to running with no pain. Scott has directions on taping on the web site.
Read everything on this web site and find out what works for you. I think that you and myself should be very careful about the shoes we run in. I plan to use my custom orthotic in my running shoes as well as my everyday shoes.
Good luck. I hope you get back to running painfree.
