I am in the same situation as you. I have trained actively in Karate for the past 6 years. Due to incorrect information from my doctor, I ignored the pain and continued to train. Big mistake! I have spent the last 4 months on my butt. The PF is almost completely gone ( I hope ) Very mild stiffness is all that is left in the morning and this is gone within minutes. I started a diet that was published by a local hospital. It's based on a chemical reaction between the foods and burns 10 lbs in 3 days. You only diet for 3 days then you are off it (and eating normal foods) for 4 days. I did it once and will go again starting tommorrow. I lost about 8 pounds the first week and won't diet again for another two weeks. 8-10 pounds a month would be great but I think 35 to 40 lbs a month is too fast. I will post the diet tommorrow I don't have it with me right now. Don't worry you won't starve on this diet but it is very strick and you can't substitute or deviate at all.
