In addition to this wonderful PF in both feet, I recently clobbered my left knee (yeah, walking has become a real adventure). In treating the knee, my physician recently tried Lodine, a NSAID. For 3 days prior I took a steroid, then 5 days worth of the NSAID. The steroid hardly touched anything, but the Lodine did indeed make my knee and feet feel substantially better. In fact, it was the first time in four months that I could actually walk around for 10 minutes without feeling pain. It was wonderful -- just like a trip to the past -- which I fear will never come again. It was just so absolutely tremendous to be able to move and not feel pain. (Sure took the good old days for granted, didn't we?) Anyway, it's not a cheap med -- but meds don't usually work well on me so maybe it's worth a try in your future.
I share your feelings about weekends and a quick trip to the mall -- or anywhere. Getting out of a chair is painful. Buying groceries is painful. Sometimes just lying in bed is painful. I have quickly come to learn that when you have PF, you measure a good day in terms of "less pain than yesterday." Take heart I keep telling myself. Better days are coming. For all of us.
