A stationary bike has not helped me at all. I quit heavy walking (4-5 miles a day) about 5 months ago because of PF, went to a stationary bike instead. My heels hurt each time I finished, so I figure it's probably the constant pressure, gravity pull and "rolling" stretch on the fascia that's doing it.
A lot of people on this site have written about recumbent bikes (presumably stationary but maybe not). I'm nursing a bad knee right now so I'm not trying any bikes for another month or two until I get it repaired. But I suspect a recumbent stationery bike may be less tugging and pulling on the heels and feet, relying more on calf muscles.
