Re: Numbness

Bill, I just read a question and answer health article in my local paper. A woman wrote to ask what causes numbness in her feet after she uses her treadmill. She described the numbness as the same sensation as when your foot falls asleep. This is the same thing I feel when I excercise. The doctor who replied said a possible cause is tarsal tunnel syndrome and is caused by pressure on a nerve that passses from the ankle to the foot. It is compressed by an overgrowth of fibrous tissue on its way to the foot. He said rest and anti-inflammatory medicine reduce tissue swelling and nerve compression. Thought I would pass along that tidbit of info. Hope you feel better soon.
