Active Release Techniques by Dr Leahy help Plantar Fasciitis

Posted by Sallie Adams on 12/18/98
Thought I would provide the following information since I have gotten good information from this site. My Plantar Fasciitis is nearly cured. After a year of orthotics, stretching, taping, and night splints I finally found what I needed, treatment by Dr. Mike Leahy in Colorado Springs CO. Dr. Leahy's active release technique is "a collection of different "hands-on soft-tissue techniques that treat alterations in tissue texture. If a muscle stays tight for any length of time, it weakens. This can lead to injury. What we do is find the tissue that is injured and physically work it back to the texture, tension and movement that it should have." The orthotics and stretching are still part of my daily routine. After several treatments with Dr. Leahy I can now run again without pain during or after the run. Dr. Leahy can be contacted at Champion Health (719) 473-7000 or write to 10 North Meade, Colorado Springs CO 80909.
