I found the information re DMSO; its from the most recent newsletter of Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. (for those who don't know him, he's an md with an interest and knowledge in alternative treatments - he's written numerous books and you can see him on Public Broadcasting sometimes).

He says DMSO is good for inflammation - the condition he's recommending it for in the newsletter is patellar tendenitis (knee pain). He says get a 70% solution; paint it on the area with cotton ball 3 times daily for 3 days; if it seems to help, then put it on 2 times daily for 3 more days; and then, once daily for a final 3 days. It might burn or sting when you first put it on, and he says it will dissolve synthetic fibers so don't spill on your clothes.

I'm going to try it on the foot I haven't had the surgery on. If its good, I'll try it on the operated on foot. If anyone else tries it, or knows about it, let us know!! Good luck
