I have found through much experience that Birks need to be a 100% program to totally get rid of the pain. Never barefoot or any other shoes for at least 3-6 mts. Then if you do try wearing something else, have the Birks ready to get into if the arches feel the least little stressed.

I also added calcium with magnesium and glucosamine to my normal vitamins I take each a.m. Doing that finally seemed to take that last little pain/soreness away - but it does take another 4-6 weeks on these supplements and keeping faithful to the Birks to accomplish it. I now have no heel pain, no limping, no arch soreness. Basically I'd say I am back to pre-PF feet but I still am very careful what I put my feet into... and plan to continue with the Birks. I think the athletic type shoes were the worst thing for this condition and will never wear them again for work. Good Luck, Diane R. (p.s. I had PF pain for 4 yrs., confirmed spurs on both feet, had cortisone, orthotics, etc. & work on concrete floors over 8 hrs. a day ... just in case you wondered where I started from) That was all before May 97 when I started this full time Birks program.
