I was fortunate that the shots did give me some relief. My left foot responded well to the shots and the wrapping, the right one did not. I had to take 3 shots in the right foot before I had surgery. Part of it was my fault for waiting so long to go to a podiatrist. The other part was the doctor's fault for not being up front with me about what I was facing, i.e., plantar fasciitis is a recurring problem. I did not interview the doctor very thoroughly, she was non-communicative and every podiatrist I've been to see since knows of her reputation and has had to try to clean up the messes she's left behind. I now have a home TENS unit I was introduced to by one of the podiatrists. It has been a real life saver as I've had to get rid of my car and take public transportation. Weight has very little "bearing" on this problem, overweight people are usually always told to blame everything on their weight, then doctors look at thin patients and don't know what to say. It's getting better. I pray a lot. Thank God it's not getting any worse. I am a member of the union (by no choice of my own) of the Podiatrists Full Employment Act. The TENS unit I have is considered experimental and my employer insurance DID NOT PAY ONE PENNY OF IT.
