Re: choosing an acupuncturist

I had very little knowledge about acu; didn't personally know anyone who had experienced it. I knew that I wanted someone with both formal training and experience. Did a web search and a site that was helpful to me is
http://www.acupuncture.com
This had a number of articles on acupuncture, as well as a referral system by city/state. What impressed me was that the listing included names and credentials of licensed acus. I then made a few calls to find out about length of experience in general, and experience with PF in particular. The acu I chose is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and a licensed acupuncturist with a Diplomat of Acu (passed a national exam) who has over 30 years of acu experience. I was also impressed when he said he would be able to tell after 2 or 3 treatments whether or not he could help me. He runs the acu clinic at an alternative health clinic in my area. Anyway, that's how I got started.
