It sure is great to hear that you can go 3 miles with no pain. I'd give anything to be able to do that. It sure is strange that your description of some heel pain sounds exactly like mine. After running, I sometimes get a pain in the center of the heel. It does not last very long or hurt very much. During the last 9 months, this PF pain has been all over my heel but mostly on the front side.

As I said, I am up to 1/4 of a mile every other day. I plan to increase this distance verrry slowly. As of now, this feels great!

The NB 877 seem to be a good middle of the line. They are rated as a cushion shoe but are far more ridgid in the mid section than the Nikes I used to run in. I have gotten a custom orthotic back from my Podiatirst and have tried them in the 877's. The orthotics are like leather, not hard and not soft either. Right now, I plan to wear them everyday and run in them. This seems to be a good middle of the line. This gives fairly good cushioning and allows very litle pronation.

I wish you the best and hope you are able to get back to running without pain. Heck, I wish the same for myself. Let me know how you are doing and I will do the same.

Good running.....
