Re: Anyone ever try Dr. Martens shoes/boots?

Yes, I live in my orthotics. I always feel like Sy Sperling from the Hair Club for Men when I talk like this. "I'm not only the president..." haha. Actually it is a family business that has been around for about 22 years. My father opened the lab when I was 4.

I have always had access to orthotics, but I never really thought about it until I was a teenager, and began having serious ankle problems. I went the route of cortisone shots strapping, air casts, etc. (Since I just couldn't part with my "cute shoes" and wear the orthotics like Mom and Dad said.) Then I became a hairdresser, and being on my feet ALL day really became a problem. I finally started to use my orthotics,(once all that teenage rebellion wore off), and it made a tremendous difference.

I still have a bit of trouble standing in one place for a long time, (partially why I left the hair business) but I am happy to say that I did my all of my holiday shopping virtually pain free this year! I am able to walk alot more comfortably these days. If I do go a day without them, I am sorry the next day.

So, yes, "...I'm also a client".

:)
