I too think my pf started from my hips and sacrum being out of alignment. My physical therapist kept telling me that one leg appeared shorter than another, and because of this misalignment she thought it was causing me to favor one foot over another, thus causing heel pain. She referred me to a chiropractor which I now see twice a week. After he adjusts my hips I feel great for several days. He also adjusts the talus bone in my feet which helps a great deal too. After years of running back and forth to foot doctors, I have found myself getting much better from seeing the chiropractor. I used to be afraid of chiropractors, and now find that I can't live without mine!!!! So in a nut shell I guess if I ever develope back problems I will see a podiatrist, and for my heel pain I will continue to see a podiatrist!!!! What a mixed up world we live in!!
