Orthodics

I have PF and have been in pain since Dec. The physician liked one
inch crepe sole CLARK desert boots. These have not helped. Today I
went to an orthotics shoe store. They do custom inserts for $150.
and recommend New Balance tennis shoes and clogs. Tomorrow I am
going to an orthotic supply company associated with a HMO. Their main
purpose is distributing Birkenstock inserts (not sandals). Any com-
ments?? Should I pursue $600+ orthotics instead? Any recommendations
for walking shoes which will accommodate orthotic inserts?
