I agree with Bea. Get a second opinion. What you wrote doesn't make sense exactly. I've been told that plantar fasciitis causes the heel spur, not the other way around and for it to cause a rupture of the tendon it would have to be one big mother of a spur. Think about how much tissue it would have to go through to cause that. Try an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in feet. He/she should have done a fellowship in feet.
