should I have stayed on toprol-beta blocker?

Four days ago I switched from beta blocker to calcium channel blocker for high blood pressure. Today, Sunday, I feel heart beating a little hard and am concerned. When I asked my doctor if "calcium blocker" meant interfering with the absortion of calcium, she laughed at me and assured me that is not the case. Now after reading all here I am really worried and am thinking perhaps the loss of adrenelin was beter than loss 0f calcium. Which is worse?.
