To Milton...hang in there

Hi Milton. I had the pf surgery 1 month ago and feel fantastic!! I had 3/4 inch cut without the scope as well on the inside of my arch, about 1/4" long. I am having a burning in my heels when I stand to long or am on a hard surface (cement) but other than that, my feet feel like new! Tonight I speed walked down a long corridor, concentrating on pronating my foot inward to have a more "balanced" contact. It felt great and seemed to eliminate the side foot pain and the heel pain. I am hopeful I will be back to walking 6 miles a day and snowshoeing in another month or so. Keep a positive attitude!! My PT brother in law says that the pain is oftem caused by overcompensating to "protect" the foot. Something to consider. I am now fighting a small infection in the incision on the left foot, but have meds that will kill that. Try massaging your heels after a shower. Palpate with your thumbs and get aggressive with the pressure. This has brought relief and seemed to speed the heeling.
Good luck and happy running! Hope you will be outside enjoying the fresh air soon!! My fingers are crossed for you!
