Robin, I think a big part of pf is acceptance. I don't like to think of it as defeat just acceptance. I am not saying stop trying to relieve your pain, I am just trying to say don't fight what your body has handed you.
I too love to exercise and have had to give up my usual exercise regimen. Luckily I have been able to find new ways to exercise. I think that this whole experience has served as a way for me to try new things that I would never have tried otherwise. I highly suggest yoga. It is very good at stretching your muscles and putting your mind at peace. I wish you luck on your journey!!
