I have been reading the board alot and have gone to several quality
shoe stores including one which also makes custom orthotics. The name which keeps coming up is New Balance 586 and 990. The foot bed is wider in the 586. Cost around $95. I'm struggling with whether to invest in Birk sandals, clogs, or tennis shoes. I was fitted with Birk inserts last week. I guess it's too early to tell if they help.
