Re: I'm needing moral support

Take heart -- you're in the right place. I keep saying it but -- for a non life-threatening malady, this PF jazz is just an absolute killer. It puts restrictions and limitations on leading a normal life that I never even dreamed of. There's not an activity of daily life, and there's not an upcoming event or activity in the future, that I don't think of first in terms of my feet and can my poor feet stand it. How bad will the pain be? Should I take 2 pairs of shoes, three, more? Hmmm -- what a way to live.

But -- after you get over the fact that you probably will have to throw away your pretty shoes, at least there is support here. And -- if ever the illustrious medical profession DOES identify something that works for most people, you will probably read about it here first. Here on this board, people don't scold you for having a down day. They don't tell you that you'd feel better if you got off your butt and exercised. (Yeah, right). They don't tell you how they're so much worse off than you are. And most important -- they don't expect it to go away tomorrow or the next day -- and so you won't hear "Aren't you better yet?" on this board. By the way, I can vounch for Birks being worthwhile. They are NOT a panacea for me but they are among the best shoes I have that allow me to survive each day and be on my feet for a few hours. If you really feel the need to continue with medical treatment, you might want to consider an orthopedic specialist. They seem to be more imaginative and creative than podiatrists, from what people write.
