I have had the burning for 2 years, the whole time I've had the PF. It is worst when I get OFF my feet, especially in bed at night. I just talked to my dr. about this today (I'm still having it in the right foot even tho. I had the EPF in Jan). He says its probably caused by tarsal tunnel syndrome, and that the pattern of the burning increasing when I get off the feet is typical of that condition. He is prescribing a new pill that diabetics use for neuropathy in their feet, and he thinks it may help, but it takes a month to have much effect! I will give you the name of the drug after I pick it up at the pharmacy today. My right foot (the EPF foot) has less burning than the non-operated on foot by about 50%, so the Epf apparently did help with that some.
