Re: LESS PRICEY SHOES

Hi Suzi

I laughed out loud when I read your message. So, unhelpful doctors are obviously a universal phenomenon. I've previously had great faith in the medical profession over the past few years having mostly come across some saint-like people, all just superb. Unfortunately, this particularly idiotic one is one of the GPs at my local doctors surgery. He is probably a very good doctor for colds and flu and kids with a rash, for all I know, but he obviously knows bog-all about feet. Anyway, I'm due to go back to see him tomorrow and will ask to be referred to someone who knows what he or she is talking about. Haven't figured out yet how to express that tactfully!

I just got back from a trip to the Birkenstock shop in Covent Garden. My feet are so happy at the moment they could shriek. Obviously the bad one still hurts, but... I got some blue inserts and, a bargain offer, there were still some sandals and shoes on sale and I got a pair for a FRACTION of the original price. So, I'll try clumping around in those for a while. I wasn't going to get shoes at all until after the further medical checks, but this was a good sale price.

Well, back to the heaps on the desk I suppose. Can't spend all afternoon admiring my new sandals. Unfortunately.
